This 8-hour tour to the village of Khinalig covers a one-way distance of 220 km.
Khinalig is located 220 km from Baku in the Guba district, situated on the northern slope of the Greater Caucasus mountain range at an altitude of 2100-2200 meters above sea level. The residents refer to their village as "Kyat," and call themselves as "Kyatam," claiming to be direct descendants of the biblical Noah.
Known for its inaccessibility, unique language, and culture, Khinalig attracts tourists and adventurers. The village consists of 380 houses with approximately two thousand residents. The roofs of one house serve as a courtyard for the house above, and many of these homes are 200-300 years old.
Khinalig is famous for its unique language, distinctive customs, and traditions. Notable landmarks include the Fire Worshippers' Temple from the Middle Ages, the tomb of Khidir Nabi, the mosques of Sheikh Shalbuz and Abu Muslim, caves, and numerous unexplored archaeological sites. This area, recognized by UNESCO as a site of worldwide historical significance, is often likened to an open-air museum.
In 2007, the historical territory of the village was declared the "Khinalig" State Historical, Architectural, and Ethnographic Reserve.
